Five Items I’ve Owned for 6+ Years

Continuing the series of “Items I’ve Owned for Lots of Years” with five more items I’ve owned for 6 or more years. To catch up on the first two posts, you can check out Six Items I’ve Owned for 10+ Years and Four coats I’ve owned for 5+ Years to see the items that have been in my closet the longest and why coats are a great investment.

This will be the third of four installments of items I’ve owned for a while, and I hope it inspires you to review your closet and bust out those items you’ve had for a while. I know this exercise has helped me tap back into my style and not what the internet tells me my style should be.

item one

I bought these green Madewell cropped pants on a whim in 2016, but I wasn’t 100% sure how to style them. However, with some practice these pants are a hot favorite - especially during the fall and when Brian works for a green team. They are some of my favorite pants.

WHY I LOVE IT: These pants were my first dabble outside of skinny jeans, and they helped me broaden my horizons when it came to pant shapes.

item two

This teal Anthropologie dress was purchased for a wedding in 2017, and I have worn it to several weddings, events, and photos since. You can see photos of where I wore it for photos we took in North Carolina last April. I love the coloring of this dress for myself. And the texture is so fun and adds interest to a solid color dress.

WHY I LOVE IT: I feel really beautiful in this dress AND it is so comfy.

item three

These black Hunter wellies were a birthday gift in 2016. I had just moved to Ohio for the second time, and I was needing something I could wear on rainy days yet still pass off as office appropriate.

WHY I LOVE IT: While you don’t see these all over Pinterest or social media quite like you did back in 2016, these will never go out of style and are always practical.

item four

I feel like everyone owns a pair of Spanx leggings, I bought my first pair in 2015, and truly, at least for me, they live up to the hype. I wear mine so much I purchased a second pair this year. They are in steady rotation even working from home.

WHY I LOVE IT: Especially since working from home, I love these because they are comfy, but still look put toegether.

item five

I bought this Y’all Sweatshirt in 2014, and I love it. This sweatshirt feels like me because I do say y’all all the time and have for years. Plus, the font looks like YALE which always causes people to chuckle. Mine does have some pilling after years of wear, but it is still a favorite.

WHY I LOVE IT: This sweatshirt feels so “me”, and it always starts a conversation.

You can shop all of the Kentucky for Kentucky Y’all gear here.

What item(s) have you had in your closet for a long time?

xx,

Linds
