Style Sessions: Betsey Johnson Cady Boots

Almost three weeks ago, I shared these Betsey Johnson Cady boots on IG stories and asked the rhetorical question of “how can I want the most versatile French girl wardrobe, but then I these booties and I’m trying to convince myself how to make them work with my wardrobe?” And girl, when I say my DM’s blew up, I mean the building was gone, there were flames. Total destruction. The common theme was “choose joy!”

So I did.

I can’t remember what on earth caused me to even stumble upon them, but I’m a sucker for boots - tall ones, short ones, flat ones, heeled ones, western ones. Doesn’t matter. I love them. And truthfully after purchasing these booties, I truly do feel more joyful.

Things I love about these booties:

  1. They are so joyful! And with the last two years, all I want is more joy.

  2. They are WAY comfier than I expected them to be. The footbed has a great cushion and with the block heel, they really are shoes I could wear all day.

  3. I just feel like I used to feel in these booties. Like all the pandemic worry goes away. They’re like my Wizard of Oz shoes.

Here are four ways I would wear the Betsey Johnson Cady boots right now. During the day. In everyday life. No date night looks. No event looks. These are looks I would wear out for any ol’ regular degular day activity. Expect to see more style sessions around these boots because I am determined to make them worth it.

look one

blazer: here and here // shirt: here and similar // bottoms: similar // shoes: here, here, here, here, and similar

Combining two new loves all in one look. This look really embodies the French girl style with a sprinkle of Texas glam. Real Jeanne Damas meets Kacey Musgraves right here. Business up top and party on the bottom.

look two

coat: here and similar // shirt: here // bottoms: here, here, and similar // shoes: here, here, here, here, and similar

This is a very “me” look as Erin from Style Thief Fashion called it. Jeans and a t-shirt are my vibe. And you add the teddy coat with the booties and I feel like the rich, cool auntie I know I am meant to be.

look three

sweater: here and here // bottoms: here // shoes: here, here, here, here, and similar

Faux leather leggings with an oversized sweater. This look is so easy and comfy, and you just let the boots do all the talking.

look four

shirt: here and here // bottoms: here, here, and similar // shoes: here, here, here, here, and similar

I initially put this look together for a bit of a laugh, but then I was like “oh, dang girl. this works!” I do love a denim on denim look, but I thought with the boots it might be too much! It might be too Dolly, too Kacey, you know? However, I don’t think too Dolly or too Kacey exists. This is my favorite look of the four.

Tip: when pairing denim on denim be sure there is at least a slight difference in the two types of denim.

So, can I get a round of applause for the boots? Have I convinced you to get them? I will tell you what many followers in my DMs said, “choose joy!” Joy will never not be a good choice.

What is your favorite look? Would you wear these rhinestone boots?

xx,

Linds
